the article I have read is “Museum in Amsterdam 'bans' cameras, asks visitorsto sketch artwork instead”. It is taken
from a British national daily newspaper “The Independent”. The author of
the article is Jack Shepherd. This article is devoted to the campaign “Start
drawing” in the museum in Amsterdam.
The author starts by telling the reader that many
tourists in the museums mostly take photographs of the paintings, but they don’t
look at the paintings and don’t appreciate the artwork. Their main goal is to
take photographs. The article describes the “Start drawing” campaign at Rijksmuseum
in Amsterdam. Curators of this campaign hope that people will appreciate and
better understand the beauty of art. The main thing is that people come to the
museum and start drawing a picture. They look at the famous painting and try to
sketch it. It doesn’t matter if you can’t draw. The main idea is to understand the
process of drawing and its hardness. The article goes on to say that curators
of this campaign hope that this campaign will help people to get close to the
artist and the magic of drawing. In conclusion the author says that this campaign
has its own ‘The Big Draw’ day in October, when visitors can try to be a painter and it's not necessary for them to bring special things for drawings, they are given all the necessary things like scketch pads and pencils.
I found this article very fascinating. I have never
heard about anything similar to this campaign. To my mind it is very good way
to attract people’s attention to art. If I had an opportunity to participate in
this project, I would do it. In conclusion I’d like to ask my groupmates. Do
you simply take photographs in the museums or try to appreciate beauty of art through
the paintings?
I think that the campaign “Start drawing” is very interesting and unusual idea to attract people's attention to art. I think it will help people to plunge into the world of art and to feel like a real artist! I like drawing and if I had an opportunity I would participate in this campaign with great pleasure! As for me,when I visit galleries or museums I try to consider pieces of art (paintings,sculptures) attentively and I try to understand what idea the author of the work wanted to convey. And I don't waste time to photos when I am in galleries or museums.
ОтветитьУдалитьThe idea described in the article is definitely unusual and worth paying attention to. I think that it would be interesting for most of the visitors. As for me I am not very good at drawing and would not probably try to draw anything especially when I am in a company of other people. My attention will be disturbed from the piece of art if I start drawing. Still, I don't like people who takes photos in museums or art galleries. It is prohibited in most cases by the way. If you want to have a photo of any picture you can find it in the Internet or just buy a reproduction. There is no need to bother other people and disturb them from admiring art.
ОтветитьУдалитьThis is a very interesting and fascinating article. The youth of today are not interested in art, and therefore they like the finished work of artists. The youth of today has lost all the value of art. Nowadays, not all families raise children in such a feature as the emotional experiences of the artist while painting. Many people refer to the pictures is very simple,but nobody thought about the thoughts, feelings and experiences of the artist. Therefore,I believe that people from early childhood and must be nurtured to develop spiritually, thinking about values and about the reasons of writing a particular pattern.
ОтветитьУдалитьI think this campaign is an unordinary way to make people become closer to an artist and appreciate his works. I can't understand people who take photos in art-galleries and museums. To my mind, everybody can look at photos of famous pictures in the Internet. People go to museums and galleries to enjoy the art. When I go to a museum or to an art-gallery I always try to appreciate beauty of art and understand what an artist implicates in his work.
ОтветитьУдалитьI enjoy visiting museums. I like to watch the picture with my own eyes. Photos can not convey the beauty of art which the painter has put into his work. Also, I consider the flash of cameras distract the attention of other observers. Viktoria has already said that we can find some pictures in the Internet. Nowadays it is very simply to do.

I appreciate beauty of art through the paintings and I do not like people taking photographs in museums and galleries as they tremendously disturb me. Generally I like art very much. My grandfather is an artist and l have been spending for hours watching the process of his work in my childhood. Now there are lots of his works in my flat. And lots of my guests admire them. My grandfather and I often visit lots of museums and galleries. Especially I like the Hermitage Museum and State Russian Museum. I like our discussians about various artists and their works. I - like my grandfather - appreciate beauty of art through the paintings as it gives me the great opportunity to notice each dab made by the creator. This is tremendously exciting process and I am really embarassed when somebody disturbs me taking photographs behind me. So Vika`s point of view is very close to me.
